As a child one of my favorite things to do was to color in a coloring book. Over the years I often found myself doodling but it wasn't until I neared retirement that I decided to start feeding that creative urge. I am largely self-taught but I have taken a few lessons from time to time from different individuals because I'm always discovering some new (to me) medium or technique that I have to try. I enjoy the challenge, the frustration and the ultimate satisfaction of trying new things. Through art I am constantly learning and creating. I've tried pencil, charcoal, ink, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, alcohol ink, scratch board, etc. My only regret is that there is never enough time to do everything that I want to explore.
